| content: | Dear Mr X, On 4 May 2026, you submitted a complaint to my Office against the European Commission concerning the above issue. In your complaint to the Commission, you argued that, because of the national reclassification of Greek polytechnic degrees, the previously recognised equivalence between your Romanian degree and the corresponding Greek polytechnic degrees was de facto lost. In your opinion, the combined effect of the original formal recognition of equivalence of your Romanian degree, the subsequent unilateral national reclassification of Greek polytechnic degrees and the refusal by the Greek authorities to recognise the equivalence of your Romanian degree at a higher level would amount to a violation of the principle of legitimate expectations and would create unjustified restrictions on the free movement of workers and the freedom of establishment contrary to Articles 45 and 49 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
